Loot Crate - February 2014

It's near the end of the month again which means our LootCrate is here!

This month's theme is Warriors!

It's a monthly subscription box for geeks & gamers. For $13.37 + $6 shipping/month you get a box filled 6-8 awesome items all curated to a different theme each month. Crates get sent out around the 20th of each month via USPS. All the goodies are shipped on a black cardboard box with LootCrate's logo printed on the outside.

BH Cosmetics Haul

Yes, if it isn't obvious already, I have a bad habit of wanting to "collect" things.

I was at Rina's place the other day talking about how I wanted a few more brushes. I wanted something a bit smaller to use as an eyeliner brush. Plus, it's nice to have more than one set of eye brushes for eye shadow unless you ritualistically clean you brushes after using them which I don't always get the chance to do.

What We've Bought

We thought we'd just share with you guys what we've purchased in the last two weeks...

#8: NYX: Stuck on You Eyelash Glue in clear - $??.??
#9: China Glaze Polish in Refresh Mint - $4.50
#10: Da Vinci 100% Human Hair Eyelashes in #601 - $1.99
#11: Da Vinci 100% Human Hair Eyelashes in #205 - $1.99

We found this store in DTLA called Misty Perfumes & Cologne that sold mainly NYX and ELF cosmetics along with Perfumes & Cologne. They had some China Glaze polishes too and some other brands we weren't familiar with. I've tried my fair share of ELF products in the past, some I loved and some I hated. Rina and her sister are newcomers to the scene so they were pretty excited to see most of what they had here. If you're interested in these products and hate ordering online, this place is definitely worth checking out as they carry nearly all of their products here. (<$30)

#1: Black Cotton Buds, 200 ct - $1.50
#2: Pastel Felting Wool, 3 pack - $1.50
#3: Felting Needles, 4 ct - $1.50
#4: Pencil & Pen Trio in Purple - $1.50
#5: Paper Tape (Washi Tape) - $1.50
#6: Battery Operated Lint Remover - $1.50
#7: Sanitary Cup with Suction Cup Stand - $1.50

We have this store in our area called Daiso Japan. It's basically a Japanese dollar store where most items cost only $1.50! They have lot's of cute things ranging from makeup, home goods, food, crafts, storage, auto, pets... just a lot! They stock new items monthly and we know because we tend to visit this store twice a month since it's Rina's mom's favorite store. The photo doesn't show everything we bought but you get the idea. (<$12)

#1: Galaxy Chic Palette - $12.95 (originally $22.95)
#2: Creme Luxe Lipstick in Tea Time - $3.95 (originally $7.95)
#3: Creme Luxe Lipstick in Berry Bite - $3.95 (originally $7.95)
#4: Flawless Brow Trio in Dark - $5.95 (originally $6.95)

Last but not least, BH Cosmetics had a good deal up on their website. Free shipping on orders over $25 on top of their already discounted items! Plus I've been eyeing that Galaxy Chic palette because how could I not? IT'S GALAXY THEMED! The shadows are just the prettiest pigmented things. I also decided to try some of their lipstick and their brow trio. I have natural jet black, thick hair so you can only imagine how brown the other brow powders look on me. I decided to try something a bit darker so we'll give this one a shot. ($26.80)

We plan on reviewing our past buys sometime soon so stay tuned!

GrazeBox #1

My free Graze Box came last week. We have to keep ourselves from inhaling all the packets in one day.

Graze box is a snack box featuring 4 samples of healthy snacks. You can choose what you like and dislike which helps to customize your box. Your first box arrives about 10 days after your order and you can choose to receive them every two weeks or 4 weeks thereafter. You also have the option to push it a week back or forward. Each box costs $6 but you can get your 1st and 5th box free when you use my coupon code at the end of this post!

This little guy is the box I found inside my mailbox.

dōTERRA - PastTense Roll-on Review

Has anyone heard of dōTERRA? They're an essential oil company we've signed up for a while back. Membership discounts are pretty awesome but what's better are their products!

We're all really loving their PastTense Roll-on. It's an oil blend for tension and I honestly have to say it works! (for me at least) Some may not like the cilantro smell but I find it somewhat relaxing. I'm a migraine sufferer and I normally resort to taking headache medication when I feel one coming on. I got tired of reaching for pills every time so I was set on finding an alternative. This is my alternative and so far it's been working. It's like having an Icy Hot patch around your head! Rina's mom bought a bottle too and she likes to keep it in her purse for when she needs it.

Personally, I've been using the product four about 5 months now. Although the frequency of my headaches haven't changed, the way I handle them sure have. I get at least one headache a week so that's an estimated 20 headaches in the last 5 months? Well, I can definitely count how many times I've had to take a pill since then... and that awesome number is 2.

Here's their description on their website:

"PastTense®, dōTERRA®'s proprietary blend for tension and the discomforts associated with headaches, provides calming comfort with the strength of CPTG® essential oils of wintergreen, lavender, peppermint, frankincense, cilantro, marjoram, roman chamomile, basil, and rosemary. Packaged for convenient application in a roll-on bottle. For aromatic and topical use."

All that's just my story though. It could work for you or it couldn't but if you're interested in trying I've set up a link to our doTERRA shop. Just click the box in the sidebar. If you'd like more info regarding membership options and discounts just send me a message!

Did anyone see tonight's episode of The Fosters?!

GlossyBox - January 2014

To be honest, I just received the tracking info yesterday (or the day before), but it's already here! It arrived an entire 2 days early, it was scheduled for the 24th.

GlossyBox is a beauty subscription box service that sends you a lovely reusable box filled with 4-5 deluxe and full-sized products each month for only $21/month and FREE shipping! There's an online survey worth 20 'glossydots' each for every product you get in your box which is pretty neat. Referrals earn you 200 'glossydots' and a total of 1,000 'glossydots' earns you a free box.

Splendies - January 2014

I was surprised when my Splendies arrived yesterday. I saw that a was billed but didn't receive any notification of a package being sent like in December. It isn't like it matters to me anyways since they ship pretty fast. I received this package about a week or less after being billed.

Splendies is an Underwear Subscription. They send out 3 pairs of randomly selected underwear in different styles for a low price of $12/month. There's also a thong-less option for $14/month. Your first order gets processed immediately and ships within 10 days via USPS from Santa Monica, CA.

Last month's order was a bit too tight, they suggest you size up but I didn't listen. I emailed them right away regarding my size. They replied quickly and well.. my size was in fact changed for this month. I couldn't be any happier with their service.

The plain white waterproof envelope.

Loot Crate - January 2014

Sedona Lace Vortex Brush Kit

I've been contemplating this purchase for weeks now. I've never really purchased anything other than drugstore brushes and after years of having those same brushes, I decided it was time for an upgrade.

$99.95

They arrived today which is a day early but I'm not complaining! Their website said that orders would be processed when they got back from holiday (01-06) so I figured they'd be bit backed up but it was in fact processed that very day. It was due to arrive tomorrow so just imagine my surprise when I found out it was already out for delivery.
