Sedona Lace Vortex Brush Kit

I've been contemplating this purchase for weeks now. I've never really purchased anything other than drugstore brushes and after years of having those same brushes, I decided it was time for an upgrade.

$99.95

They arrived today which is a day early but I'm not complaining! Their website said that orders would be processed when they got back from holiday (01-06) so I figured they'd be bit backed up but it was in fact processed that very day. It was due to arrive tomorrow so just imagine my surprise when I found out it was already out for delivery.

I took a bunch of photos to compare how they hold up after a few months of use.

I decided on the kit that included the belt, here's a close up.

The brushes came in plastic bag which came in a black mesh bag.

Face Brush - FB 01: Jumbo Fan Brush
"The multi-purpose fan brush is large, luxurious and can be used with many powder products. Use it to pack loose powder under your eyes to catch fall out or to set foundation. Use on an angle and get a nice, even distribution of blush, bronzer or highlight."
UPDATE --- I like using this brush for applying blush. This brush tends to shed but not so much that it's bothersome.

Face Bush - FB 03: Tulip Contour
"The tulip shape makes this contour brush special. Used on its tip, it fits perfectly into he hollow of the cheeks for contouring or onto the tops of the cheekbones for highlighting. This brush also works great for applying bronzer, blush or setting powder."

Face Brush - FB 05: Dome Contour
"The dome shaped brush bristles that are tightly packed giving the density needed to properly buff contour powder into cheek bones, temples, and the jaw line. Using this brush to blend and evenly apply liquid or cream foundation will ensure maximum coverage every time."

Face Brush - FB 07: Flat Top Buffer
"An essential tool for foundation application! The compact, flat top helps buff in powder, liquid, or cream foundation for an airbrushed finish. Liquid or cream foundation will not stain the brown synthetic bristles. You can use this brush on its side to get a precise, contoured edge on the cheek bones."
UPDATE --- This brush makes it easy to apply a good amount of foundation on. It's sturdy but not scratchy at all. I love how soft this brush is!

Here are all the eye brushes & one lip brush.

Eye Brush - EB 09: Universal Blender
"This brush is truly universal! Use the brush for applying all over lid color, flat on its side to pack on eye shadow, and use it on its tip to apply crease and contour color."
UPDATE --- It's universal and I love it. Perfect for those lazy days or when travelling and you don't want to bring all your brushes.

Eye Brush - EB 11: Flat Synthetic
"The large head of this brush makes it perfect for applying creamy eyeshadow base or concealer in seconds. The dense, smooth bristles also make it ideal for packing on shadow - both cream and powder."
UPDATE --- Why do I find the bristles on this brush to be a little scratchy as a concealer brush? Maybe that's just me though. I've been using it with concealer but it could be better with eyeshadow. It's definitely a dense brush though.

Eye Brush - EB 15: Pointed Crease
"The crease brush has a nice point at the top making it perfect for even the smallest eye spaces."

Eye Brush - EB 13: Synthetic Blender
"Makeup artists use crease brushes to blend out creamy product like concealer or eyeshadow base. The synthetic bristles are dense making blending out darker crease colors simple."

Eye Brush - EB 17: Brow Spoolie Duo
"This duo is perfect for applying brow color like a pro. The angled brow side has more stiff textured bristles so that you can properly apply brow color. Use the spoolie side to blend out harsh lines and create consistent, even natural looking color."
UPDATE:
--- I really love this duo. I've read that some thought the brow end was a little thick but I found it to be just the right thickness for my brows. The stiffness is great because it helps comb the brows out at the same time. The spoolie end though is just your typical spoolie, no complaints here.

Eye Brush - EB 19: Bent Liner
"The ferrule or bent tip is conveniently angled so that you can apply gel or liquid liner without having you view obstructed by the brush head. The tip of the brush is dense and pointed to give you a clean line."

Eye Brush - EB 21: Detailed Shader
"For advanced eyeshadow application, a small shader brush is essential. This is great for getting into the tear ducts with a highlight color or even onto the lash line for smudging out color."

Eye Brush - EB 23: Angled Detail
"This brush was created specifically to have extremely thin bristles and a deep, diagonal cut. You'll never have a problem when applying the perfect winged line with this brush."
UPDATE:
--- I wanna say that this brush is a bit too big for the way I line my top lash line but unless I'm going for a more dramatic look, I like using this for "drawing" my brows.

Lip Brush - LB 25: Capped Lip Brush
"This brush has a removable cap keeping your brush sanitary when not in use! Snap it on the end of the brush while in use and you have a full sized lip brush that's easy to handle.
UPDATE --- It's your ordinary lip brush. I think it's the perfect size.

OVERALL --- These are my first actual set of brushes and they definitely are a huge difference from my old ones. I love them so far. Price alone is already a good deal, $100 for 13 brushes, 14 if you count the fact that one is double ended, that's about $7.15/brush AND you get an awesome zippered brush belt! As other reviews have said, they are very soft. I did notice some bleeding from the fan brush while washing but that was it. They're currently drying right now so I have yet to use them. I'll continue to update this post as I go.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself but the synthetic brushes seem to be calling my name too!
