Ipsy - January 2014

My Ipsy bag for January 2014 is here!

For those of you who don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service for beauty products. For $10/month they send out 4-5 deluxe or full sized items. The items come packaged in a reusable makeup bag. They have a different theme each month and this month's is called, "19 Reasons."

I really love this bag. It's nice and simple!

#1: Briogeo; Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Mask -  (Full Size @ 5.25 oz/$26.00)

"Repairing mask for dry, damaged, or chemically-treated hair. Repair and treat dry, damaged and/or breaking hair with Don't Despair, Repair! Repair and treat dry, damaged and/or breaking hair with Don't Despair, Repair!™ deep conditioning mask.  Fortified with ultra-hydrating avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, strengthening keratin protein, power-conditioning rosehip oil, soothing aloe, and super hair-essential vitamins B5, D, A, E and biotin.  This unique complex of targeted ingredients helps increase hair elasticity and moisture to prevent breakage, promotes healthy shine and luster, and replenishes strength.  From hot tools to chemical treatments, we can all use some hair TLC, so Don't Despair, Repair!"
--- I have some pretty damaged hair so I can't wait to try this. From time to time I treat my hair with coconut oil but it's nice to have something different for a change.

#2: Elizabeth Mott; Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil - (Full Size @ 1.5 g/$14.99)

"You heard correctly! We've created the ultimate gel pencil that's smooth like butter and lasts ALL DAY without smudging. These velvety pencils glide on with ease, and contain just enough shimmer. Smooth Shadow pencils are also waterproof and perfect for taking your look from day to night. A must have for all color lovers!"
--- It's a beautiful color but there's a bit too much shimmer for me. At first I thought the sample was just the tip of the pencil but I read online that it could be sharpened? It's made of plastic but I'll save that for when I actually run out.

#3: Nourish Organic; Lightweight Moisturizing Organic Face Lotion - (Full Size @ 1.7 oz/$21.99)

"This lightweight formula provides continuous moisture throughout the day, while replenishing essential skin nutrients. Moroccan Argan oil intensely hydrates and replenishes skin, rosewater evens out tone and smoothes texture and Shea butter locks in moisture and improves skin elasticity. Fragrance-Free. Alcohol-Free. Gluten-Free. Vegan."
--- This seems like such a promising product but I'm still using the Naobay Moisturizer from last months GlossyBox so it'll just have to wait.

#4: Mica Beauty; Tinted Lip Balm - Full Size @ 4 g/$30.00

"MicaBeauty's 24 hour Tinted Lip Balm conditions your lips without smudge while delivering sophisticated finish. Infused with Vitamin E, MicaBeauty's Tinted Lip Balm helps keep your lips soft, smooth and protected. For a sheer wash of color, one swipe is all you need. Do you want even bolder pout? Simply apply another swipe and this lip balm will create lips every woman covets.
Kiss-Proof! Smudge-Proof!"
--- Super pigmented! It's true, one swipe is really all you need. I'm not sure if it really is moisturizing though, it felt very light. It almost feels like ELF's Studio Lip Stain before applying the gloss over it. I have dry lips and I prefer something a lot more moisturizing, so for that I wouldn't purchase this item.

#5: Proactive+; Mark Fading Pads - 4 pcs

"A few quick swipes are all it takes to give yourself a smoother, brighter, more radiant complexion. Each convenient no-rinse pad contains professional-strength (5%) glycolic acid to exfoliate layers of pigmented dead skin cells, plus maximum-strength (2%) salicylic acid acne medicine to help keep pores clear and looking smaller."
--- I don't always break out but it's nice to know that I have this for when I do. My fiance could probably benefit from this more though. I've tried one but I don't think you'll notice a difference unless you use them daily.

OVERALL --- I'm happy with what I received. Proactiv was never really a brand I was excited to try but I've never tried them so this was still good. I do wish it could've been a different product since I'm not really a fan of wipes. I'm actually interested in trying out some other Mica Beauty products. 3/5 was not so bad for my first bag!
